Methods of Affixing Patches:

  1. Sew patches to uniform. Click here for a fast and easy way to sew them on using needle and thread. This is the most reliable method.
  2. Badge Magic. Badge Magic is a way to attach patches to the uniform without sewing. Badge Magic has adhesive on both sides which will stick patches to the uniform.  Preformed sheets are designed in the same shape as the badges so no cutting is necessary - just peel and stick. The downside to Badge Magic is that the edges can come loose and the adhesive can discolor the uniform.
  3. Professional application:
    • The Scout Shops can often arrange for a tailor or seamstress to apply the patches. Their pricing is usually better than outside tailors, but turnaround time may be a factor.
    • Independent tailors, seamstresses and dry cleaners can apply the patches with instruction. This is typically an expensive option due to the cost per patch and the number of patches to be applied.
    • Some apply the patches with Badge Magic and then bring to a professional to be sewn on.
